I Will Wait!

While I was posting the last song on here from YouTube, I was listening to it on my phone. Suddenly for no reason it switched to another song by Mumford and Sons. Never heard of them, but the Lyrics got my attention. All I can say is “Lord I will wait for HIM”. I knew what God was saying at the time but didn’t want to hear it. I will wait for that man 🙂

“I Will Wait”

Well, I came home
Like a stone
And I fell heavy into your arms
These days of dust
Which we’ve known
Will blow away with this new sun But I’ll kneel down,
Wait for now
And I’ll kneel down,
Know my ground And I will wait, I will wait for you
And I will wait, I will wait for you So break my step
And relent
Well, you forgave and I won’t forget
Know what we’ve seen
And him with less
Now in some way shake the excess’Cause I will wait, I will wait for you
And I will wait, I will wait for you
And I will wait, I will wait for you
And I will wait, I will wait for you

Now I’ll be bold
As well as strong
And use my head alongside my heart
So tame my flesh
And fix my eyes
A tethered mind freed from the lies

And I’ll kneel down,
Wait for now
I’ll kneel down,
Know my ground

Raise my hands
Paint my spirit gold
And bow my head
Keep my heart slow

‘Cause I will wait, I will wait for you
And I will wait, I will wait for you
And I will wait, I will wait for you
And I will wait, I will wait for you

God’s Timing

We live in a time when we wait for NOTHING.  On Tuesday, I wanted to see this play called The Haves and Have Not’s and my first thought was I would go to Wal-Mart, then I changed my mind because Target was closer. Well I called Target to be certain they had a copy of the play and they didn’t. My second thought was, “I will wait until tomorrow”. Well I didn’t want to wait, so I promptly got on YouTube and rented it. NO WAITING.  It’s amazing how life is. You don’t have to wait to buy a DVD, or a CD. We wait for NOTHING.

This becomes a dilemma when God says something is going to happen and we have to wait. It’s almost unthinkable for most of us that we would have to wait on a particular promise for 10 years. This is why a lot of people end up NOT getting what God promised.

I was thinking about Abraham and Sarah and how they waited 25 years for their son.  And because Sarah did not believe and Abraham went along with the program, Ishmael came along because they did not wait on what God said.

God once revealed something to me and it took 22 years before it happened! It wasn’t something I was waiting on personally, but, it was something God showed me would happen in my family.  I must have a special grace for waiting because SUDDENLY it happened. It wasn’t good, but it taught me when God says something, it’s going to happen no matter how long it takes.

If you are going to walk with God and have a close relationship with him, get ready to WAIT. What we see in the world today, with everything instant, in no way reflects the ways of God.

I’m not saying everything is going to take a long time to manifest. But some things might and we have to learn how to trust God while waiting. If God makes you wait there MUST  be a reason and since He is God, He knows better. AGAIN, TRUST HIM!

Psalm 27:14

New International Version (NIV)

14 Wait for the Lord: be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.

Fools Rush In Pt. 3

wedding maybeYears ago there was this Pastor that I knew of who was very well-known in certain circles of the Body of Christ. He had hit the age of 40 and of course everyone was wondering who he was going to marry. There were literally thousands of women standing in line and laying claim on him saying God said he was their Boaz.

There were rumors going around that he was gay and of course, nothing will provoke a straight man to get married, like a gay rumor. Behind the scenes I heard that he was distraught and desperate. Well, long story short he met a very physically beautiful unchurched woman and within four months they were married. Needless to say, his church emptied out (all the ladies with their revelations about him).

The wife got pregnant within a short period (with another mans baby). I know this man turned bitter against God and he turned from the true gospel of Jesus Christ to a false doctrine. He lost everything and to this day, is still teaching this strange new gospel. But he lost everything.

If you talk to old members from his church and those who were up close and personal, all of them say it all started when he RUSHED and married that woman that he did not really know. After that marriage, everything went down hill.

Don’t let a rumor or accusation or desperation make you jump into an ill-fated marriage. Continue to wait on God as you have been doing. There is more to be uncovered and revealed even about the person you might be considering. WAIT on God

Psalm 27:14

New King James Version (NKJV)

14 Wait on the Lord;
Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart;
Wait, I say, on the Lord!

Divine Timing

I talk a lot about timing because I know that’s an issue with most of us. But once you learn that what God has promised must happen in the fullness of time, you have no choice but to rest in God. I know a lot of times we think we are ready for what God has for us, but if that was the truth we would have it by now.

A friend of mine had a dream about me some time last year and this particular dream contained three major components. Honestly, I thought it would all happen at once. But the first part of the dream manifested back in December, then the last part of the dream started to manifest in April, which I just recognized this past week and the second part of the dream manifested in the last two months. So it took a bit of TIME.

This instant society has us spoiled with our on-demand movies, microwave meals and ATM’s on every other corner. We just don’t know how to wait!

But if you have ever waited for God and had it come to pass, then you know that which He has promised is going to happen, case closed period. So relax and rest in Him and prepare. He makes everything beautiful in its time.

Psalm 27:14

New King James Version (NKJV)

14 Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!

Hold On

Just a brief word today. I have some really pressing issues right now and yesterday I was asking God about them. I happened to have the TV on and a song by the group Wilson Philips came on and the chorus just jumped out at me. I knew God was speaking. (if He can speak through a donkey, He can speak through a song). Just going to share a small portion of the chorus, which is what jumped out at me:

Don’t you know things can change
Things’ll go your way
If you hold on for one more day
Can you hold on for one more day
Things’ll go your way
Hold on for one more day

Somebody needs this today. Just hold on…

Isaiah 40:31 King James Version (KJV)

31But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Timing is Everything

Sometimes we don’t understand God’s timing, but there is always a purpose when we have to wait. Some people are used to controlling their own lives, so it is hard for them to understand the concept of waiting on God, or God’s timing.

I mentioned that there was a problem concerning the house that I am living in and after five years, the issue was rectified this past week. But the timing of it all is strategic. Just this year something changed with the mortgage company that has brought about this entire change. That’s why this could not have happened before 2011. There was another issue too that made it all come together perfectly.

It doesn’t matter how long the wait, if you are patient, you will see God’s hand at work and it will all make sense. So much is making sense now and God has it all under control. We can do the right thing at the wrong time. Trust that God knows better than you, and just wait on Him.

Habakkuk 2:3 (New International Version)

3 For the revelation awaits an appointed time;  it speaks of the end  and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it;  it[a] will certainly come and will not delay.
