Resolve

Keep-Calm-Stay-Put (1)When God shows you His plan for your life, you have to resolve to WAIT ON GOD! These past few days have been difficult, but in the midst of it all, I am learning that you have to hear what God is saying and follow what God is telling you to do, no matter what people are telling you to do.

Yesterday, I moved  from my sister’s apartment and I am temporarily staying with a friend. When I lost my house, God spoke to me and told me Florida would be the place where I would see my prophecies come to pass. So that would mean staying in Florida. And that is what I have to do. I have two close friends who have extended their homes to me, but neither one of them live in Florida. Recently, I was considering going back to New York (my hometown) but of course, I have to obey God. Right now it’s a little uncomfortable because everyone needs their own space, but God has shown me a few others things, so right now the goal is to stay in the sunshine state.

When God shows us something we must resolve in our heart that we are going to obey. Since I’ve gotten clarity, that is what I plan to do. So now the next step is to obtain what God showed me I would obtain here. I can’t go into the details, but I believe God.

There is also another area I have come into resolve about and that is waiting for my mate. I have made up my mind, that I am going to wait on the person God says is right for me, even if he is not right for me right now. We are all diamonds in the rough in some areas of our lives. Diamonds don’t just become diamonds. There is a process which includes pressure. So I will wait on who God has said He has for me and work on myself. And as this character Ms. Ora says, “wait for him to show up at my doorstep”, because I have no intention of going anywhere until he comes!

Psalm 27:14

New International Version (NIV)

14 Wait for the Lord;
be strong and take heart
and wait for the Lord.

God’s Timing

We live in a time when we wait for NOTHING.  On Tuesday, I wanted to see this play called The Haves and Have Not’s and my first thought was I would go to Wal-Mart, then I changed my mind because Target was closer. Well I called Target to be certain they had a copy of the play and they didn’t. My second thought was, “I will wait until tomorrow”. Well I didn’t want to wait, so I promptly got on YouTube and rented it. NO WAITING.  It’s amazing how life is. You don’t have to wait to buy a DVD, or a CD. We wait for NOTHING.

This becomes a dilemma when God says something is going to happen and we have to wait. It’s almost unthinkable for most of us that we would have to wait on a particular promise for 10 years. This is why a lot of people end up NOT getting what God promised.

I was thinking about Abraham and Sarah and how they waited 25 years for their son.  And because Sarah did not believe and Abraham went along with the program, Ishmael came along because they did not wait on what God said.

God once revealed something to me and it took 22 years before it happened! It wasn’t something I was waiting on personally, but, it was something God showed me would happen in my family.  I must have a special grace for waiting because SUDDENLY it happened. It wasn’t good, but it taught me when God says something, it’s going to happen no matter how long it takes.

If you are going to walk with God and have a close relationship with him, get ready to WAIT. What we see in the world today, with everything instant, in no way reflects the ways of God.

I’m not saying everything is going to take a long time to manifest. But some things might and we have to learn how to trust God while waiting. If God makes you wait there MUST  be a reason and since He is God, He knows better. AGAIN, TRUST HIM!

Psalm 27:14

New International Version (NIV)

14 Wait for the Lord: be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.

But You Will Not Leave in Haste

Isaiah 52:12

New International Version (NIV)

12 But you will not leave in haste
   or go in flight;
   for the Lord will go before you,
   the God of Israel will be your rear guard.

Several weeks back the Lord gave me a very clear instruction. From the instruction given, it would seem, with provision, I was released to do what the Lord told me immediately. But then the other day in devotions God gave me the above scripture and I kind of understood why the provision had not come yet.

There is a danger in having no restrictions financially because then you must really rely on God to make certain you don’t make a mistake about timing. Oh yes, that dirty little word timing that most of us have yet to master. I know I haven’t. I can’t tell you how many times I have jumped ahead of God.

Let me share a few things that can get in the way of discerning God’s timing. One of the major factors is a person that walks in the flesh. You know what I mean. When you live in sin and feed your flesh, it makes it very hard to discern the correct timing of God.

Then my mind reflects on how often the enemy tries to get us to rush and not think things through. I remember once when I was living in New York there was an opportunity to go on a trip to a conference at a very good price. Bus fare, conference fees, hotel was all included in the package deal. As a friend and I considered it, after my friend talked to the woman sponsoring it, she backed off immediately. My friend was warned as a child by her father to back off from those wanting to pressure you into making quick decisions. And the sponsor was putting on the pressure big time! We opted not to go and later learned that it was a big mess. God is NOT in a hurry. The enemy causes us to rush in, so we don’t have time to think and consider.

Remember what Luke 14:28 says. We have to count the cost of the decisions that we make. How costly is it to build something without considering the long-term consequences. The big one is marriage. I once saw a couple marry after knowing each other for three weeks. It was all about feeding the flesh. Well needless to say, the marriage lasted about a minute. They didn’t use wisdom at all.

I am learning not to be hasty. If it’s of God, it will keep and you don’t have to be in a rush. Wait on the Lord. Repeat that to yourself. Wait on the Lord. 🙂

Psalm 37:7a

New Living Translation (NLT)

 Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act.

Ecclesiastes 3:11

New International Version (NIV)

11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet[a] no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.
