Deliverance

I was reading an older post that I had written a while back about Tiger Woods and his “issues” and it got me to thinking about deliverance. You see you don’t really hear or see much about deliverance these days. What you hear more of is about people in ministry being exposed. But not much about deliverance. That is why God is going to deliver some appointed ones in a mighty way, so that the Body of Christ can be reminded of what God can do.

I know that when you have been bound by certain sins for a very long time, you lose hope that God can set you free, but that is why it’s important get get around people who have that testimony. Ask God to send someone your way who has been dealing with your issues, but is now free.

the_conversion_of_paul_on_the_road_to_damascusI know my current Pastor is a man who shared that he has done some of EVERYTHING. He said he’s done every kind of drug known to man, he was a perpetual fornicator and even committed adultery and struggled after he got saved. But when I tell you this man is free, he is FREE. I mean he even confesses to us and his wife if he looks at a lady too long at the Wal-Mart. That is how accountable he is.

We can’t continue to make excuses for our sin, but the truth is that we really have to WANT to be free. The reason most people are not free from sin is because they are not tired enough. But sometimes that is why God will allow something to happen to push us toward deliverance.

How powerful will it to be to say you used to be a sex-addict, or a porn addict, or you got delivered from gluttony, masturbation, lying, stealing. fornication or adultery. Well it can be done plain and simple. We just have to do the work. And what is the work? I would say start with prayer and FASTING. The fasting is the key, but watch out. When you start fasting, I find that sin usually rears it ugly head even more. That is how you know what is in you. When you fast it will really begin to surface, but don’t let that stop you, just keep going.

I know; I’ve lost a lot of your right there because you don’t want to fast. Well guess what? If you don’t want to fast, you don’t want to be free!

Let your daily prayer be to be set free. No, I have not mastered everything, but I am learning the process and it works. Fell off the wagon a few times, but still know that God has the power to deliver because he has delivered me!

Someone is scheduled for a Damascus Road experience. Believe it. Someone is going to have a Saul to Paul experience. It’s going to be a sovereign move of God! And you are going to have a testimony of deliverance that is going to affect the masses! Watch and see!

Romans 8:13

New International Version (NIV)

13 For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.

A Series of Events

I woke up this morning already knowing some things in my heart. Today’s earlier post was a response to something in which I already knew the answer. But I am excited because my heart is not invested in empty words, so some things don’t even hurt.

God reminded me about the end from the beginning, (Isaiah 46:10) while I was in church, so I know that God’s will won’t come until deliverance comes and sometimes that means people must get exactly what they want. I am not going to say much more because my words carry weight and I don’t want to stop the process.

You see Samson had to go for what he wanted even though he ended up disappointed, but he had to do it. It was through him doing that, that he learned the lessons God wanted him to learn. That is what life is about. I learned a lesson too.

When you are walking prophetically sometimes it’s hard to put the pieces of the puzzle together, but then suddenly, it’s just like putting a real puzzle together. You put one piece in and suddenly all the others fit.

I had a dream that was date stamped and what God showed me was about the month of September. We will see if it manifests this year. But I am chuckling now because again I have learned some valuable lessons and this one is the last one I needed to learn. Years ago, God showed me something and now I have the strength to do it.

So what lessons did I learn?

1. When God shows you a snake, believe what he has shown you. The sad thing is some people don’t know they are dealing with a snake-like personality (one that can’t be trusted), so they are going to end up hurt. But if God allows it, there is a reason.

2. Before God’s promise comes to pass, a series of events may have to play out. Sometimes very unpleasant ones that may not make you happy. But hold on. God’s promise will stand for itself. Once he tells you the end from the beginning, trust him.

3. Don’t fall for the “Okie doke”.(https://apropheticwalk.wordpress.com/2012/08/17/love-series-dont-fall-for-the-okie-doke/) See people for who they are. Love them anyway. They may need you when they hit rock bottom. The road to deliverance is not an easy one.

4.Some people are destined for a Chad Johnson (https://apropheticwalk.wordpress.com/2012/08/31/pop-culture-the-consequences-of-reckless-living/) or a Tiger Woods (https://apropheticwalk.wordpress.com/2009/12/16/a-lesson-from-tiger-woods/)  route before they are able to break their destructive patterns. In other words, some people are destined for a public scandal.

5. Some women are destined to become infatuated with an undelivered man and have their hearts crushed. That is their judgment. It’s the penalty for past sins that they committed. They had snake dreams too and were warned, but disregarded the warning, so now they will have to learn painful lessons.

This may sound like a riddle to some (sorry) but for me it is about my prophetic walk. You see it’s all about a series of events that must come to pass before the promise. If God shows you the end at the beginning, just know there may be some rough times in the middle. But if He showed you the end, don’t worry about the series of events that must play out.

Isaiah 46:10

New International Version (NIV)

10 I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.’

For the next several days, I am going to reblog some of my earlier posts as the Lord has led me to do.

A Prophetic Walk

I am reading a really good book called “the Tiger Woods Syndrome: why men prowl and how to not become the prey”. I was at the library, and the book caught my eye, and I am glad that I checked it out.

This book is eye-opening and in my opinion a must read for single woman. Basically in a nutshell the book explains how a lot of relationships fail because of the “Tiger Woods syndrome” which is when a man hides who he really is. It’s like I once heard this minister say “when you date you are really meeting a representative”, lol.

This is not a man bashing book. It’s a guide to help women spot the warning signs.Let’s talk Tiger. I am sure Elin thought she was getting this great guy who loved her. He was at the top of his game, handsome, rich and famous. Tiger…

Beware of distractions

It’s amazing how seemingly innocent things can become major distractions. I enjoy watching a little bit of entertainment news. Programs like Extra, and Entertainment Tonight. I like to keep up with pop culture because I think it’s important in order to be relevant. I’m a stickler for Christians knowing what is going on in the world around them. But lately the Lord was showing me how those programs are a distraction. I don’t watch everything. I usually tape it and pick and choose what I watch, but lately it’s really been a lot of salacious garbage about who is cheating on whom. Not so innocent.

Friends, some of these seemingly innocent things that we do are nothing more than distractions. I’ve found myself very concerned about marriage and cheating because of this junk that I was filling my mind with. So what if Tiger Woods and Jessie James cheated on their wives? What does that have to do with us and God’s Kingdom? Absolutely nothing. Beware of distractions!

SMALL STRAWS IN A SOFT WIND by Marsha Burns — March 25, 2010:

Be alert and watch for distractions that will divert your focus from being led and moved by My Spirit to worldly concerns. This is always a tactic of the enemy to keep you from purity and power, but it is beginning to take on a dimension that creates fear through fascination as a seduction away from kingdom purpose. You can quite easily overcome this temptation by staying close to the truth of My Word, says the Lord.

Galatians 6:14 But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.

About Tiger Woods apologizing

I have to say I can respect a man who admits when he is wrong, acknowledges his sin and repents. I don’t care how bad it is, the truth will set you free and for that reason I have much respect for Tiger.

I have to say that I cannot understand why the media is picking him apart. He’s made a mess already, the whole WORLD knows. He’s embarrassed his family and himself. Give him a break already.

I’ve heard about how people think he was insincere and he sounded robotic. Well let me say this. Just imagine how you would sound if all of YOUR business was in the street and you had to aplogize to the whole world. Now it’s between him and his family and God. Case closed.

I wrote an earlier post about exposure being God’s mercy. Exposure equals God’s mercy.  As I listened to Tiger I knew what I shared was true. I think it’s good if deliverance has come.

My only prayer for Tiger and his family is that they embrace JESUS. He is the only one that can truly deliver.

Exposure equals God’s mercy

Let’s face it: when we think of exposure we never think it can be something good. But I have to say that recently I was thinking of exposure as God’s mercy.

I was reading another blog and the man was sharing how when his dog has an accident, he doesn’t whip his dog, but he just cleans it up and comforts the dog even when the dog is afraid of being disciplined. And I agree God has done that for all of us many times. He cleans up our messes, and conceals them also.  But let’s give a balanced picture of a God who chastises those He loves.

God sometimes in His mercy sees the things that we are going through and He knows that it will destroy us. He may warn us that there will be consequences for our actions. It’s not so much that He wants to put us up to public humiliation. I don’t think of that at all when I think of exposure. I think it’s God’s mercy to help us gain control.

Two quick examples: My own brother (he has told this from the pulpit) was a pastor over 20 years ago and had several extramarital relationships. Nothing broke him out of it until everything was uncovered.  He was forced to change his ways when everything was exposed. Let’s face it, as long as things are concealed we usually keep doing what we are doing. Though painful, public exposure was good for him in the long run. It helped him become a delivered man and now he can share his testimony freely.

Some of you may remember, back in the 80’s with Jim Bakker and Jimmy Swaggart and more recently Ted Haggard having public uncoverings. God allowed it for his purposes. The exposure brought about deliverance.  Sadly we don’t want to accept this, but just like you spank your child out of love so does God. And in the secular world lets look at Tiger Woods. It took the public scandal to get him to seek help. The world knowing his business, no matter how painful caused him to STOP and deal. (as far as we know) I’m not saying God takes pleasure in this, I think it’s a last resort, but honestly I believe it’s God’s mercy.

Hebrews 12:11: AMP

11 For the time being no discipline brings joy, but seems grievous and painful; but afterwards it yields a peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it [a harvest of fruit which consists in righteousness–in conformity to God’s will in purpose, thought, and action, resulting in right living and right standing with God].

Hebrews 12:6:
6 For the Lord corrects and disciplines everyone whom He loves, and He punishes, even scourges, every son whom He accepts and welcomes to His heart and cherishes.
