The Good and the Bad

I hope everyone has a great holiday! I did. I plan to live even if I don’t have a lot of money. So the lady that I live with and I got on the trolley that goes down Florida’s west coast beaches and took our lunch and had a nice day. We had dinner at the Bubba Bump Shrimp restaurant (yes, based on the movie Forest Gump) and topped our evening off with a run to Cold Stone Ice cream Parlor (I had no sugar-added vanilla ice cream). No, the trip did not surround eating. We enjoyed the beautiful beaches too! lol It was a good day.

Sadly, it did not start good. I woke up to see a call from my baby brother at 7:34 am and I knew something was wrong. I knew he was not calling me to wish me a happy Memorial Day that early. Sadly, he called to share the sad news that his wife had a stroke. My heart sank! She is in stable condition and God has spared her life. Thank God! Please pray for her. We share the same name. Her name is Sheila.

Life is filled with the good and the bad and even though I had a good time, my mind and prayers were always drifting back to my sister-in-law. That’s life. Always the good and the bad.

New International Version (NIV)

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Merry Christmas!

Let’s try this again! lol

Have a safe, healthy and holy holiday! Don’t forget the reason for the season and whatever you do…STAY IN THE WILL OF GOD!

Luke 2:7

New King James Version (NKJV)

7 And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

The Cloud is Moving

onewayI had a brief warning dream about my health again, but this time I believe it is connected to living where I am right now. I’ve shared that I am allergic to cats and I’m currently living with 2 of  them which has been hard. Sometimes we do what we have to do, until we can do better.

This situation is the right situation to get me to move. The best Christmas present I could have is the ability to move. The provision to move would make my holiday. I also have to say that I am open to moving WHEREVER God wants me to move. The truth is, I have felt like a fish our of water for some time, but I am beginning to see that things are only going to take off for me when I get to where God wants me to be. And I can feel it! It seems that now I can really feel that I am going to the place I belong.

I am not going to give any details. I’m just going to trust God that NOW IS THE TIME!

Genesis 12:1

New International Version (NIV)

The Call of Abram

12 The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.

Grateful Pt. 2

banner-black-nativity-film_1How was your holiday? I had a great day. My dinner was a hit and I have to say, I enjoyed my food! lol

I’ve cooked huge Thanksgiving dinners for decades now, but each time, I am always nervous and thankfully each time I always do a good job.  Whew!

After dinner, my host,  my sister and I went to see Black Nativity. I have to say, this is the second time this year that I felt like I was in church at the movie theater (The other time was when I went to see I’m in love with a church girl).

This movie is a must see for EVERYONE, not just African-Americans. I mean I felt like I left church as we walked out the theater. The movie is about family, faith and forgiveness. I promise you, you won’t be disappointed.

I had a great holiday!

Psalm 136:1

King James Version (KJV)

136 O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
