Love Series: Awakening Love Too Soon

dv146_thumbnailThe internet has changed the way we interact with each other. Those of us who are of a certain age can remember how life was before this great information highway came along.

I am not opposed to people meeting online. I have a family member who met his wife online. But the way the online should work, is that you should meet within a year. That is my opinion. I think the reality of  meeting a person can break through the infatuation of who you think someone is.

There is another phenomenon that is taking place in the online world and that is “falling in love”  online. Do I think it can happen? I think plenty of people would tell you yes. My question would be, who did you fall in love with?

When you are not in someones day to day life it’s hard to know what is really going on. So boy meets girl and girl falls for boy and she thinks boy has fallen for her. Only there is one problem. Boy has a problem and he is a womanizer and girl doesn’t have a clue of what is going in his life. She is simply believing the words that he is saying on a computer.

I would be especially suspect if I had NEVER met the man and he is saying he loves me. If you have been relegated to a computer I would say “HOUSTON, WE HAVE A PROBLEM”! lol But some women are naive that way. The reason I say women is because  a man would never do that. He would get a life if you never brought him into your life. In fact, he would never stop living.

This is why you should be careful not to awaken love before it’s time. I’m telling you, if he says he loves you online, but you’ve never met him, after years and years (yes, it happens) trust me; there is someone else or even others.

Song of Solomon 2:7

Contemporary English Version (CEV)

7 Young women of Jerusalem,
promise me by the power
of deer and gazelles[a]
never to awaken love
before it is ready.
