Recreational Dating

Great wisdom!

GodlyDating101

I have no idea where this trend started, but I hope it ends soon. There’s a new thing going around and I think it’s called “recreational dating”. It serves no purpose, but it kills time. Let’s address it….

Here are five types of recreational daters:
1. The bored man/woman.
They have absolutely no idea who or what they are after. Therefore causing them to be unstable in their choices and relationships. They will talk to anyone that makes them feel good at the moment, even if they have not known them very long. Then in a few days, weeks, or maybe even a year they will get bored and try to find someone else to entertain them. They surely aren’t seeking commitment, just some quick entertainment. Why would you go to a shopping mall and not plan to buy anything. You will either take something that isn’t yours or…

Things Are Not What They Seem

1353181131_things20arent20always20what20they20seem_xlargeIf God tells you not to worry and that things are not what they seem, BELIEVE IT!.

I’ve been so concerned about something here lately and God was telling me not to worry because it wasn’t as “intimidating” as I thought it was and of course, God is always right! Some times the situation is just a mere fantasy, just as He showed you. Not as real as it is being presented, no matter what the person is saying.

I was looking at something that seemed to be such a threat, but the truth is it’s not that stable at all, even if it appears that it is. The truth is there are many distractions, not just one.

God sees what is going on behind the scenes. People can be in denial if they want. Things are REALLY not what they seem.

SMALL STRAWS IN A SOFT WIND by MARSHA BURNS:

Look how far you have come!  The difficulties that you have endured and overcome have instructed you and driven you to find Me in a more meaningful and concrete way.  Your days of trouble are not to be disdained; they are to be recognized as a necessary part of your growth process.  Don’t lament, says the Lord.  Rejoice for where you are now and where I will take you from here.
Psalms 32:8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.

Fasting and Focus

plugintoI was reading some of my old blog posts and I have to say I rather enjoyed them. lol I also realize that this blog is ministry and I sincerely hope it’s helping someone. I don’t get a lot of comments like I used to, but that is okay. Even if  one person is helped, it’s worth it.

I wanted to share about the importance of the discipline of fasting in our walk with God. I can’t emphasize enough how very important this discipline is for your spiritual growth. Fasting will help you to focus and hear God more clearly. It will help you overcome and escape the temptation of sin. If you don’t live a fasted life, I recommend you start now. This is a key for someone who has cried out to God for an answer as to what they should do.

I have fasted nearly all of my Christian life and it’s really a key to why I am walking this prophetic walk today. But it’s still a battle. Like most of us, I like food and God is requiring more of me in this area and I still have my battles, but I refuse to give up, and you don’t give up either. Don’t let the enemy discourage and tell you that you did it before and nothing happened. Fasting to me MUST be a lifestyle. Most of the successful ministers today lead a fasted life and we should too.

Just on a personal note for those with health issues; in 2011, I went to the emergency room and left being told I was a type 2 diabetic. They kept me for a day and I left with prescriptions for insulin and pills. It was shocking to me because this illness does not run in my family, but I know I did it to myself.

Within two weeks, I lost 15 pds by removing the sugar from my diet. After three months I had a dream of an insulin bottle turned upside down and it was empty and I took myself off the insulin. Because of the diet changes my sugar had started to go dangerously low, so I knew God was showing me what to do.

I know diabetics are not supposed to fast, but I am now only on one pill (Metformin) and I am able to do the Daniel fast quite comfortably. This fast includes vegetables and water. Some people do fruit, but for obvious reasons, I don’t do fruit.

I shared that to say, God will help you to fast, even with a health issue. Now, I am not talking about insulin dependant diabetics. You can’t fast while on insulin. You may have to give up a favorite food or television. And of course use wisdom. This is MY testimony. Just wanted to share how God helped me to continue to fast even with a health issue.

I’ll soon be off this medicine. Trust me, I am soon going to share the day when God set me free from diabetes. I never accepted this illness and I never will. Meanwhile, I am going to keep fasting and praying.

Matthew 6:16-18

New International Version (NIV)

Fasting

16 “When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show others they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 17 But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, 18 so that it will not be obvious to others that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

The Right Time

bybelstudie the right timeIt’s so strange to me. I’ve shared about having my driver’s license forever and how I am finally driving regularly. I’m formerly from New York, so I just fell into the bus and subway, taxi cab thing. But now that I’m driving regularly, I’m zooming through the streets and it’s all so very odd to me. It feels so right! Something so simple feels like it’s happening at the right time in my life. As a woman. of a certain age, it seems like it’s late, but to me it feels right on time.

I shared how before I left New York, a prophet told me he saw me driving. I know what you are thinking. You are probably thinking I didn’t need a prophecy for that, and I have to agree. But God wanted to speak to me and I really think it’s a prophetic sign of more than just driving. I think I am in my Kairos moment. I believe this is a sign to me that I am entering into the next season of my life.

Listen, I don’t care how long it takes, God does have a set time for some things. When it happens, you will know and you will feel it. God is about to manifest His long-awaited promises to you in this season. We don’t have to know all the details. Just believe it and receive it. It’s the right time!

Psalm 102:13

New International Version (NIV)

13 You will arise and have compassion on Zion, for it is time to show favor to her; the appointed time has come.
