Love Series: Fake Stuff Will Kill You!

fake stuff” So, act brand new if you want to”.

Don’t judge me, but I’m listening to a little secular radio. I enjoy the Steve Harvey show sometimes and there was this one song that kept running through my head called “Without me” (Fantasia, clean version). Sad I have to even mention that there is a clean version of a song. It’s more common than I realized. But that is not what this post is about.

The song is about how being fake is harmful and how this woman knows how this man really is even though he is pretending by acting “brand new”. Apparently, this man is hiding his true character. As I realized what the song meant it made me think how flattery can be used as a tool of the devil.

Depending on the personality type, some people will be sucked in hook, line and sinker, by someone flattering them all day, ever day. There is something wrong with that. The bible is clear about flattery and I’ve talked about it here on this blog before.

But the emphasis of this post is not so much flattery, in that it’s about someone being fake. So what is fake? Here is the definition:

fake

1  [feyk]  Show IPA verb, faked, fak·ing, noun, adjective

verb (used with object)

1. prepare or make (something specious, deceptive, or fraudulent): to fake a report showing nonexistentprofits.
2. to conceal the defects of or make appear more attractive, interesting, valuable, etc., usually in orderto deceive: The story was faked a bit to make it more sensational.
3. to pretend; simulate: to fake illness.

When you are a sincere person, it’s hard to really accept that people are pretending.  But people pretend all the time when they have something to hide. Like a man who is cheating. He has to be fake because he knows the truth will end his relationship.

So what is the point of this blog post? It’s don’t be fake!! Be honest about who you really are and what you are really doing and if someone loves you as you really are, then you will know what you have is he real deal!

Proverbs 27:6

Amplified Bible (AMP)

6 Faithful are the wounds of a friend, but the kisses of an enemy are lavish and deceitful.
