This Is It!

thisisitEarly this morning I was watching This Is It, the concert film of Michael Jackson’s rehearsals for his last tour that never took place. It doesn’t matter how many times I watch the film, at the end I want to cry. It’s said that the reason they had to piece together different parts of the rehearsals, to make the film, is because physically he was in such bad shape, they couldn’t really get enough footage of him doing well, at one time.

You can definitely see the talent, but you also see a frail man, who I think became a prisoner of fame. It’s so sad. I often wonder what made him isolate himself from his family. I think when you get to a certain level you should have some family around. But perhaps his own family became untrustworthy. Maybe they always wanted from him. But at the end of the day, the people around him couldn’t be trusted. So I say, family would have been better.

What really saddens me is how a prophet of God from Africa, tried to reach Michael through his brother Marlon, before Michael died. This prophet forsaw Michael’s death and was trying to reach him to minister healing, but in the end it didn’t happen. Could it have happened? I think so. God is always reaching to us, but often we get willful and do things our own way. This is definitely the case when men and woman are powerful and wealthy. I think it’s just too easy to do what they want because they often become a God unto themselves. After all, people worship celebrities.

We will never know all of what was going on in Micheal’s life. But we do know God loved him and wanted to reach him before his death. Not ine of us are beyond the reach of God’s love but we have to be willing to receive it from the proper source. We are all God’s creation, but we have a choice. Michael made some wrong choices and it ended in his death. In his case, the name of his tour would become his prophetic end. Yes, for him, that was it

When God speaks to you, please listen. It could be your ‘THIS IS IT” moment.

1 Samuel 15:22-23

Living Bible (TLB)

22 Samuel replied, “Has the Lord as much pleasure in your burnt offerings and sacrifices as in your obedience? Obedience is far better than sacrifice. He is much more interested in your listening to him than in your offering the fat of rams to him. 23 For rebellion is as bad as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as bad as worshiping idols. And now because you have rejected the word of Jehovah, he has rejected you from being king.”
