Love Series: Catfish and Punked?

catfish_tv_show__span

I was reading online where someone said they had a dream that the two guys from MTV’s show Catfish showed up at their door. Then I think the same person shared another dream about how Ashton Kutcher showed up at their door. When I read this, it made me think of a blog post.

Catfish is a show about online relationships and how most of the time people are being duped online. I’ve watched the show several times and I would say, only one story turned out to be what the expectation was. Most of the time the person was being fooled in some way, in their online relationship. Of course if Ashton Kutcher shows up at your door, you are definitely being hoodwinked and fooled.

We have to make sure we are not fooled in relationships and I’m not talking about just online. People are just not honest in today’s world. They don’t tell you the truth about what is really going on in their lives. That is why you have to take your time and get to know people and not be in a mad rush to get married and have sex. Relationships should be for a life time. I know if I had those two dreams I would be leery about moving forward in any relationship I was currently in. In fact, I would view the dreams as a warning.punked

I know I don’t want to be Catfished or Punked? What about you?

God’s Got It!

truthorlieBefore the holiday, I took a few days to fast and pray and boy did I receive focus and clarity! When we seek him, He will make things clear to us.

I was concerned about a friend and had prayed for them and this past week they shared a dream and I knew that God was speaking, making the situation clear. Whether or not they will heed is on them. But God was clearly showing them that their thoughts are not His thoughts.

Sometimes we may be concerned about our friends and family, but we have to remember that God has it. He is able to speak to them and tell them exactly what they need to know. Whether they receive it, is on them. Once God reveals a thing, the responsibility rest squarely on our shoulders.

Our biggest prayer should be against the spirit of deception. It’s when we are deceived about the outcome of a situation, or are being deceived by someone, is when we have the most problems.

Pray for the spirit of truth to come. Time is out for believing or perpetuating a lie. But remember, God’s got it!

Psalm 51:6

King James Version (KJV)

6 Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.

New Beginning?

newAs this year comes to an end and I look back, there have been a lot of changes. This past year, I “lost” my house and had to move. Now, before the 5th, my plan is to get everything out of storage and move it into where I am staying. God has been gracious and has opened the door for me to stay here for now.

Of course this is not permanent. I’m not going to say a lot, but I don’t know why I feel like by January, I will be out of here. I know God is doing a new thing, but this is not it.  But we have to take one step at a time and the first step is to eliminate a bill by getting my things out of storage.

I have had the opportunity to go past the house that I used to live in and there have been a lot of improvements made, but even if I had the opportunity to go back tomorrow, I doubt I would. God is doing something new.

We have to keep moving forward, even when we don’t see and understand it all. Always remember to keep moving forward.

Isaiah 43:18-19

New International Version (NIV)

18 “Forget the former things;
do not dwell on the past.
19 See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
and streams in the wasteland.

Grateful Pt. 2

banner-black-nativity-film_1How was your holiday? I had a great day. My dinner was a hit and I have to say, I enjoyed my food! lol

I’ve cooked huge Thanksgiving dinners for decades now, but each time, I am always nervous and thankfully each time I always do a good job.  Whew!

After dinner, my host,  my sister and I went to see Black Nativity. I have to say, this is the second time this year that I felt like I was in church at the movie theater (The other time was when I went to see I’m in love with a church girl).

This movie is a must see for EVERYONE, not just African-Americans. I mean I felt like I left church as we walked out the theater. The movie is about family, faith and forgiveness. I promise you, you won’t be disappointed.

I had a great holiday!

Psalm 136:1

King James Version (KJV)

136 O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

Happy!

happyIf I remember correctly, I spent last Thanksgiving alone and that was a bummer. But I made it through. This year, I am happy to be living where I am, in spite of the circumstance. It’s nice to live with someone and I NEVER want to live alone again.

So I have all of my food for my dinner, give or take a few items that I have to pick up today. The lady that I live with is so generous with her car, so I can run around when I need to. Tomorrow, we have errands and I’m going to get my Christmas decorations out of storage and pick up our movie tickets for the Black Nativity for Thanksgiving night. After dinner we are going to the movies because that’s what I want to do since Thanksgiving is also my birthday!don__t_worry_be_happy_by_don_amine-d365lw4

My sister is coming over for dinner and another neighbor, so I definitely won’t be alone. I’m just glad to be with people this holiday. I am definitely a people person. Tomorrow evening, I will start on my dinner. Not a big dinner. Just Turkey, stuffing, green beans, yams, apple pie and ice cream. Enough for us. My host keeps hinting for potato salad and or macaroni and cheese. We will see. Too much starch! Gotta watch those carbs for health, even on a holiday.

Tomorrow, I am going to see a movie as well. I saw the Hunger Games today. All of this for my birthday. Pre-celebration! God is good and I am happy! And I also feel like something GOOD is about to happen!

I’m so blessed! How about you?

Psalm 126:1

New International Version (NIV)

A song of ascents.

1 When the Lord restored the fortunes of[a] Zion,
we were like those who dreamed.[b]
