This morning as I was praying, I looked at my Bible and it was awkwardly opened to the following scripture:
New King James Version (NKJV)
14 The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.”
I knew this scripture was a Rhema and wondered what the day would hold. Well a lot happened today and honestly, normally I would get on this blog and defend myself, but when I read those words, they brought great comfort.
Nobody can vindicate you like the Lord! So don’t fight. Let God do it. He can do it better than you can!!
My last post was about rebellion and of course the opposite of rebelling is walking in obedience. I have shared on here that my friends tell me I am the most obedient person they know. Of course I know the truth. lol The truth is I still have my struggles, and when I get off course, God will let something happen to let me know that I have to yield and do what He says to do, when He says to do it. And it not that easy all the time.
First, you have to have discernment and really know what God is saying. This takes seasons of prayer and fasting. I don’t really know how people think they hear from God without living a fasted life. The reason fasting is so important is because it will help you to decipher between the flesh and the spirit. Many times our own desires will lead us into a mess!!
God instructed me to do something and I obeyed and I am saw the result IMMEDIATELY. So much happened since yesterday, that I had to stop and write it in my journal. And even today, a well meaning person was sharing something with me that had nothing to do with God’s will. Yes, even people who love us, can lead us down the wrong path. That is why we have to fast. I knew what the person was saying was wrong.Let’s face it, the flesh wants what it wants, but God knows the very thing we want so badly will turn around and destroy us.
Are you having a hard time being obedient? I hate to say this, but sometimes a hard lesson of our disobedience is the cure!
New International Version (NIV)
19 If you are willing and obedient,
you will eat the good things of the land;
20 but if you resist and rebel,
you will be devoured by the sword.”
For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.
