The Law of Kindness

kindnessToday was an interesting day. But I am grateful that God is teaching me how to not be moved and get upset by what I see or hear. Sometimes people are just looking for love in all the wrong places.

I didn’t realize that I had gotten so rough around the edges. I think it has to do with going through so much. Like Miss Sophia said in the Color Purple “All my life, I had to fight”. Well, I haven’t had to fight all my life, but I think life has beat me up and I’ve had to fight the circumstances of life.

Right now, God is showing me when the time is right, there is someone I will need to receive in love. It’s just that simple. It’s about the law of kindness. I have learned a great lesson. The wrong person can go far because of kindness and the right person can be shut out because of lack of kindness. Yes, hard lesson, but lesson learned.

There is nothing I can do to change the circumstance. But God knows in the fullness of time things will some together. Meanwhile, I have to walk on my love walk. But I know I can do it.

1 Corinthians 13:1-3

New International Version (NIV)

13 If I speak in the tongues[a] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing.

The Power of Giving

givingI was going through some papers and folders and found several Western Union slips, in which I had sown money into the life of this single mother who I have never actually never met. We were just acquainted online.

I was shocked at the amount of money that I was able to sow into her life. I remember one time she tried to minimize it, but that is okay. God and I and she knows that I made some major sacrifices and gave when she had needs. Glad I kept the slips, so I could remember. In fact, I sowed into the lives of many others as well. It’s good to remember and let’s me know, I am ripe for a harvest.

I really want to prosper, not just so I can buy a bunch of toys and stuff that I will never use, but I really want to sow into the kingdom and into the lives of God’s people. The Lord told me that is why he is going to give me my own personal wealth. To be a financier for the Kingdom of God. And God can trust me because I’m not stingy, I have been a giver and the recipient of giving, so I know the power of giving.

Galatians 6:10

New International Version (NIV)

10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.
