Love Series: Never Woo a Man

senseI was looking at a situation that is said to be a match made in heaven to the people living it, but I wasn’t so sure. When I asked God about it, He told me that the situation was not in HIS divine order. You see it was never God’s will for a woman to woo a man, even if it seems that she has been successful. Oh, I watched situations like this play out. And I don’t believe for one minute it’s God’s way.

I’m reminded of one of my favorite movies, which his called Sense and Sensibility. The store is about 3 sisters and a mother after the death of the father. One sister, wanted a passionate romance and she got what she wanted. She gave herself with abandon to this man, without a commitment (which was unheard of during  those times). There was an older man who loved her waiting in the wings, but she didn’t want him. Well the younger sister ends up getting her heart broken in the process. Not smart to abandon yourself to a man who is uncommitted.

Then the older sister (who I identify with) was very cautious with her heart and actions and it appears she is about to lose the man she has grown fond of. He had made a sort of commitment, but because he is a man of his word, he almost goes through with his commitment until his intended falls for his brother. Well long story short, the older sister get’s her man by being conservative with her feelings (she uses wisdom). And the younger woman learns to appreciate and love the older man after her heart is broken.

The younger sister realizes that she should have been more like her older sister. So what is the moral of the story?? NEVER WOO A MAN. It may work for a while, but ultimately it won’t work because it’s out of God’s order!

If you get a chance, rent Sense and Sensibility. I think it’s a great movie!

You Don’t Listen

Balaam & Donkey Speak[1]I just got back in my house about 45 minutes ago from running errands and taking in movie and I got online and then thought about blogging. I had something in mind, but the Lord dropped a word in my spirit and I will pass it on to whomever it applies to.

I heard the Lord say “you don’t listen. I am in control not you”. You see often we want to control our lives or at least certain aspects of it, but God wants to be the one leading us and guiding us.

I know lot of people have a hard time with that because they feel that makes us robots. It  really doesn’t. God wants us to acknowledge him BEFORE we do certain things. And God who is the ruler, should be allowed to show us if what we are doing is not in His plan. Does that mean we can never do anything we want? Absolutely not. We have free will and a choice in the matter, but sometimes God says no because He sees what we don’t and he is trying to stop us from disasters.

Today, I went to see Olympus Has Fallen. I rarely do R-rated but I wanted to see this movie. I made a choice and it was good, but a bit violent for my tastes. I covered my eyes through a lot of it. But I made that choice to go. And I knew I had that option. But trust and believe if felt a NO in my spirit, I would not have gone. Maybe that was a shallow example, but I’m sure you get my point.

Someone needs to stop being hard-headed and listen to God. No means NO! But the choice is yours.

Numbers 22:31-34

Amplified Bible (AMP)

31 Then the Lord opened Balaam’s eyes, and he saw the Angel of the Lord standing in the way with His sword drawn in His hand; and he bowed his head and fell on his face.

32 And the Angel of the Lord said to him, Why have you struck your donkey these three times? See, I came out to stand against and resist you, for your behavior is willfully obstinate and contrary before Me.

33 And the ass saw Me and turned from Me these three times. If she had not turned from Me, surely I would have slain you and saved her alive.

34 Balaam said to the Angel of the Lord, I have sinned, for I did not know You stood in the way against me. But now, if my going displeases You, I will return.
