Prophetic Backlash Pt. 2

When I wrote part one of this title, I hadn’t planned to do a part two, but there was so much discussion and interest that I decided to do another part. I brought the subject up because I had given a word that was deemed false. Well there was a lot of confusion when that happened, but I believe that I have clarity. Trust me, it’s too complicated to even go into, but all is well.

I was sharing with everyone that my prophetic mentor, one of the most accurate men that I know, shared that often when you give the Word of the Lord, sometimes there are repercussions that will come back on the giver of that Word. That is what backlash is. Yes, it’s opposition whether, spiritually or in the natural. It could be either one. The reason that happens is because the enemy always wants to penalize you for being obedient to God to try to stop your from obeying the next time. My mentor was so right when he taught us that. Something usually will come to attack the servant of the Lord. But not to fear. If you have that knowledge you will always be prepared and ready.

I have a lot of respect for my mentor. Let me just share a bit about him. He is so on point that before 911 he sent out a nationwide letter to his ministry partners, warning them to not do business on that day. As a result one of the members in the church believed the Prophet (2 Chronicles 20:20) and she cancelled her meeting at Windows on the World Restaurant (at the World Trade Center) on that fateful morning, thus saving her life. As you know, NO ONE came home from that restaurant alive. Yes, that is my mentor.

But I wanted to share an experience I had with backlash, in the natural. I was attending this church and the young Pastor refused to take a salary from his church so instead, he took  preaching engagements every Sunday afternoon.  Well the Lord showed me it was primarily for income (nothing wrong with eating by the gospel) but that was not what that Pastor was supposed to be doing at that time.  The Lord told me to tell him that he needed to stop that and focus more on his church. Not my opinion, but God’s. Well I shared the word, through fear and trembling. He seemed to receive it, but boy was there a backlash in the natural

That Pastor got so angry and acted so rude towards me (backlash) it nearly devastated me. After I shared that Word we went to another church and before that service there were refreshments and whenever I got near him he was so rude, (yes a Pastor). Clearly he didn’t like what GOD had to say and he took it out on me.

Well guess what happened that SAME DAY?? The same day he preached but right after he preached he took sick right in the pulpit. We later found out he had a series of mini-strokes (he was still in his 30’s at the time) and as a result of the strokes he was out of his pulpit for about two months. He had to cancel all of the remaining engagements for that year.

The next time I saw him, (many months later) he was so humbled and he spoke to me as I was coming around to give the offering and he was telling me how powerful the word that I gave him was. Well, there was a new-found respect for the woman who he was despising for giving him the Word.

The other morning God reminded me that the respect due me, is coming and some people’s opinion of me is going to radically change. God reminded me that those labels are going to be removed and the prophetic backlash will stop. And I truly believe that applies to many of you who have found yourself  being labeled and suffering from backlash as well. Some of you are about to experience a season of vindication, like I did with this Pastor.

So if you find yourself suffering because of your obedience,  just hold tight. God will vindicate you. Meanwhile, continue being obedient in the service of the Lord.

Jeremiah 1:7-9

New Living Translation (NLT)

The Lord replied, “Don’t say, ‘I’m too young,’ for you must go wherever I send you and say whatever I tell you. And don’t be afraid of the people, for I will be with you and will protect you. I, the Lord, have spoken!”Then the Lord reached out and touched my mouth and said,

“Look, I have put my words in your mouth!
